Leica Geosystems AP20 AutoPole - the smart pole for Leica robotic total stations
Measure faster with a tilted pole and less manual input
The Leica AP20 AutoPole is a smart pole accessory for Leica robotic total stations, designed for TS16, TS20, MS60 and TS60 instruments. It removes the need to hold the pole plumb and to enter pole height by hand, so crews can concentrate on the work in front of them.
The AP20 also pairs with the AI-Follow capability of the new Leica TS20, helping the instrument stay locked on to the right target as the pole moves around the site.
Tilt compensation
The AP20 allows you to measure with a tilted pole. Instead of levelling the bubble before every shot, the surveyor can place the pole tip on the point and measure, with the tilt accounted for in the result. This is useful for points that are awkward to reach, and it can reduce the time spent at each point.
Automatic pole height reading
The AP20 reads the pole height automatically. This avoids manual entry errors and saves time when the pole is extended or shortened between measurements, for example when working on stakeout tasks that call for varying heights.
Target identification and lock-on with TargetID
With TargetID, the total station can identify the AP20 as the correct target and lock on to it. This helps when other prisms or reflective objects are in the field of view, and it supports reliable lock-on in busy work areas.
Works with AI-Follow on the TS20
When used with the Leica TS20, the AP20 works together with AI-Follow so the instrument can keep following the pole operator during robotic measurement.
